Here is a brief list of frequently asked questions from our Apprentices. If you have a question that is not listed here or on this website please contact us.
i just signed my contract, what now?
Workout. Call your host studio and start scheduling your preparatory sessions as soon as possible. The trainees that succeed most easily are the ones who have the most training as a student. Become that student.
Also, send your host studio your bio and a photo so that can promote you.
Finally, check your pre-requisite list and assemble your materials.
BEFORE THE PROGRAM
WHAT IS THE PROCESS FOR OBTAINING RPTT BINDERS, MANUALS, SEMINAR MATERIALS?
Binders will be provided to you at the 1st seminar weekend. Manuals and associated materials will arrive either at the seminars or digitally in time for you to print and bring with you.
DURING THE PROGRAM
WHAT AM I RESPONSIBLE FOR DURING RPTT?
You are responsible for your attendance at all seminars, attendance at the required weekly sessions, the daily tracking of your hours and the meeting of all required hourly benchmarks. You must successfully pass all your exams as well as any additional requirements your examiners impose.
CAN I DECIDE WHEN I AM READY TO TEST OUT AT EACH LEVEL?
Actually all trainees test out at coordinated times since your training is timed to work within the group. Trainees must meet specific hourly minimums for sessions, practice teaching, observation and self-practice in order to be invited to test out at each level. In our experience, only extraordinary circumstances prevent trainees from testing out on time with their group.
WHAT IF I FAIL A PRACTICAL EXAM?
If you do not pass a practical exam you will be given additional requirements to fulfill. Your examiner will recommend a total number of hours and a time frame for a re-test. They will also give the specifics for you to focus on in your additional time.
WHAT IF I FAIL A WRITTEN EXAM?
If you fail to pass your written exam you will also be required to fulfill additional hours and then re-test at a later date. You will be notified of your grade on your written exam and then given parameters for continuing your studies until the time of your re-examination.
what if i need time off during the program?
Trainees that need time off during the program must get permission from their Host studio. When submitting your request, include your strategy to make up any hours missed during your break as well as how you plan to maintain your online assignments.
what if i miss a homework assignment?
Our E-learning platform calculates your grades according to submission totals. If you must miss an assignment, please advise the program coordinators in advance. If you have technical difficulties, let us know immediately.
will i be offered employment at my host studio?
Hopefully, but not necessarily. No trainees are guaranteed employment at any Host studio. Trainees are invited to share a "letter of intent" and a resume after the 20th week of the program to express interest in employment. All trainees may be invited to interview at their Host studio.
can i work at other pilates studios or locations during the rptt?
Unless you are an instructor Bridging to Real Pilates from a prior training, you are not permitted to accept work as a Pilates teacher until you are a proper graduate from the program. Real Pilates does not endorse trainees working in the field until you have completed your studies. This is outlined in the trainee contracts.
can i teach anywhere i like when the program is over?
